An Italian swept hilt rapier of the form common from 1580-1620. With a hilt formed of gracefully curved bars in the typical configuration. The pommel is a four lobed acorn style finished with a tang button. While the grip is double spiral fluted timber covered with chevron patterned twisted wire finished with Turks heads.
The fullered blade has a 8mm spine distally tapering to 2mm at the tip. Edge thickness approximately 1mm.
