German messer from the mid to late 15th Century.
Of the form shown in Talhoffer, a short heavy fullered blade with a spine distally tapering from 8 down to 4mm. Small protruding knuckle guard riveted through the cross guard. The pommel is formed of two hollow sheet halves and the slab grip of Elm. The scabbard has a timber core with a leather cover tooled in a 15thc style. $1320 Messer, $880 Scabbard
