An interpretation of the falchion carried by Saint Michael in the painting by Piero Della Francesca 1454-69. The scabbard and suspension is taken from a contemporary painting as there is none shown.
The wide single edged blade has a double clipped point with a group of seven holes piercing it just before the start of the false back edge.
The spring steel guard has a solid knuckle bow and finger ring. The inside face of the scent stopper pommel is fluted.
