In the German or Swiss style, made from accurate materials and using accurate methods. The whole piece is a very faithful copy of a typical gothic crossbow.
Timber tiller with bone plates on the top surface. The nut is of Antler with a hardened and tempered Steel wedge where it contacts with the hand forged trigger. The nut sits in a horn saddle and has heavy bone plates at the sides, it is held in place with linen thread.
The bow is hand forged from spring steel 11mm thick in the centre. Secured with linen thread and and hand made linen thread string to match. The hand forged stirrup is held in place with a woven leather thong strapping.
