This spear head completely forged from a single piece of spring steel is of the Biconvex or Rapin Type V._
Dating from the late middle La Tene and extending into the early late La Tene, 175 B.C. through to about the beginning of the Common Era.
It is an extremely stout and robust form of spear that made a reappearance in latter celtic finds such as Illerup, Kraegul, Vimose and Ejbol in the early centuries AD.
This particular spear head based on a specific example from the sanctuary of Gournay-sur-Aronde in Northern France.
