Based on the sword Inventory No. IX.2205 from the Royal Armouries. 33 inch forged and hand polished blade with engraved decoration. Forge welded and engraved iron hilt. Grip covered in ray skin, bound with iron wire and finished with turks heads. Leather covered timber scabbard and baldric with brass furniture.

The sword is based on examples in Schloss Ambras, Innsbruck. Grips are spirally carved timber wrapped in brass wire, completed with brass turks heads. Sword 8mm spine with fullered ricasso. Blade distally tapers down to 3.5mm Blade is 32mm wide at the shoulder and has a 5mm dia tip. Left hand dagger 6mm spine with thumb fuller. An Italian swept hilt rapier of the form common from 1580-1620. With a hilt formed of gracefully curved bars in the typical configuration. The pommel is a four lobed acorn style finished with a tang button. While the grip is double spiral fluted timber covered with chevron patterned twisted wire finished with Turks heads. The fullered blade has a 8mm spine distally tapering to 2mm at the tip. Edge thickness approximately 1mm.
