A distinctly German style of helm very popular in the mid to late 15th Century. Illustrations of this kind of helm are common in manuscripts but survivals are quite rare. This helmet is based on the one in the deutches historisches museum, Berlin, dated to 1460. Fabricated in two halves the shape of the original helm has been meticulously reproduced. Finished with small lobed brass washers and hand made buckle for the chin strap.
