Bronze Cretan helm

Description This helm is based on finds from south central Crete that are dated from 650 to 600 B.C. The helm is constructed from 0.8mm bronze in two halves riveted together. It is finished with rolled edges and two loops for mounting the crest. Over the brow is a decorated reinforcing piece with reposse rondels and engraved mythical sea serpents. The body of the helmet is decorated with griffons and a geometric border pattern around the lower edge of the helm. Helm $2100 Crest $990
