Based on an example in the reserve collection of the Royal Armouries, Leeds.
The blade has a rather unusual cross section starting as a triangular section with a flatened triangular spine. Then a near central rib protruding from one face of the blade and at the same time developing a false back edge. Giving a rather square thrusting tip and a very attractive asymetrical blade. The blade has been hand polished to 1200#.
The grip made from locally grow Hawthorn (Crataegus oxacantha)
Chosen for its smooth close grain, hardness and attractive appearance.
Brass plate at base and top of grip.
