The iron cuirass of Philip II of Macedon

Description The iron cuirass is composed of 7 plates of steel each with rolled edges and joined to the next by an integral hinge. Gilded brass hinges attach the shoulder plates to the back plate. The entire cuirass is decorated with embossed brass strips that are 24 carot gold plated. It includes a plate with an embossed club of heracles motif on the right side and 8 gold plated bronze lions and rings to fasten the cuirass during wear.
