Based on the cuirass of Greek manufacture in the Hermitage museum. The reposse gorgon face has been faithfully reproduced. The two halves of the precisely fitted cuirass are attached by hinges with removable pins, in the classical manner. This Cuirass if properly fitted with no hindrence to movement and allowing full freedom to fight, run and sit. 5th Century B.C.

A Greek bronze Cuirass with anatomically accurate musculature. It has turned edges around the arms and neck. Repousse nipples and navel. The front and back are joined by tubular hinges and there are also rings through which a leather thong can be put to hold the halves together while the pins are inserted into the hinges. Closely copied from an example in the Metropolitan museum of art New York and dated to the 5th century B.C.

The iron cuirass is composed of 7 plates of steel each with rolled edges and joined to the next by an integral hinge. Gilded brass hinges attach the shoulder plates to the back plate. The entire cuirass is decorated with embossed brass strips that are 24 carot gold plated. It includes a plate with an embossed club of heracles motif on the right side and 8 gold plated bronze lions and rings to fasten the cuirass during wear.

Shaped from 1.2mm phosphor bronze the front and back of this cuirass join in the usual manner, pins at the shoulders and pins that drop through pairs of protruding tubes at the sides. All the pins have been forged from the same phosphor bronze sheet so that there is no colour variation. The skirt is decorated with pairs of reposse lines to match the decoration on the abdomen.
